🇺🇸 META SNATCHES 3 OPENAI RESEARCHERS FOR SUPERINTELLIGENCE PUSH
Zuckerberg just pulled off a major AI talent raid, hiring Lucas Beyer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zhai from OpenAI’s Zurich office.
The trio helped launch that office and previously worked at Google DeepMind.
It’s part of Zuck’s billion-dollar blitz to rescue Meta’s lagging AI efforts, with some researchers reportedly offered up to $100M.
OpenAI confirms their exit, while Altman shrugs:
“Zuckerberg is doing some new insane thing.
What’s next?”

🚨🇺🇸 META BEATS AUTHORS IN COURT - FAIR USE LIVES... FOR NOW
Meta just won a major legal round after a judge threw out a lawsuit from authors like Sarah Silverman and Ta-Nehisi Coates, who claimed Zuck’s AI team used pirated copies of their books to train its Llama models.
Judge Vince Chhabria didn’t say Meta was innocent -just that the authors didn’t bring the right receipts.
He even admitted AI can wreck creative markets, but ruled the plaintiffs didn’t prove it this time.
So Meta (and AI in general) walks - for now - while waving the “fair use” flag like it’s a First Amendment pep rally.
Their lawyers say it’s essential for “transformative AI.”
Critics call it the Silicon Valley remix of “it’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission.”
Meanwhile, another judge slammed Anthropic for training AI on over 7 million pirated books.
So yes, the legal ground here is shakier than a Jenga tower in a rocket launch.
One thing’s clear: this isn’t the final chapter. It’s just the preface.
