A few weeks ago, I asked why DAOs have failed and I was overwhelmed by the responses. Nearly every issue came down to one thing: people. This is not surprising. Governance is one of the most critical and messiest components in any blockchain ecosystem. DAOs, like rough consensus, are tools for coordinating human decision making. The transparent, public, and measurable nature of DAOs make it even more problematic at times as everything is out in the open. I've taken a step back to reflect on the problems I see in DAO governance and how we might start to fix them.
