🇺🇸 FLORIDA OFFICIALLY BEGINS CONSTRUCTION ON 'ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ' MIGRANT CAMP
Deep in the Everglades, construction is underway on Florida’s massive new migrant detention center.
Nicknamed 'Alligator Alcatraz', the site will hold up to 5,000 migrants starting next month in tents and trailers at an abandoned airfield.
State officials say the surrounding swamps, gators, and snakes act as natural barriers.
DHS estimates the project will cost $450 million per year, largely covered by FEMA.
Trump’s administration is pushing to expand capacity to 100,000 beds nationwide as ICE custody numbers hit a record 60,000.
