I’ve been a digital nomad for almost 4 years now.
In Web3, we always share “alpha” on making money, but rarely on how to maintain a high standard of living while saving money.
Here’s my personal Top 6 nomad cities I’ve lived in (good gyms, internet, social life, and affordability):
1. Da Nang, Vietnam – Fast internet, long beach, cheap but modern gyms. Best value I’ve found.
💸 ~$1,000–1,200/month
2. Alicante, Spain – Mediterranean lifestyle, great gyms, amazing food, beautiful and affordable compared to Barcelona.
💸 ~$1,600–2,000/month
3. Canggu, Bali – Fitness paradise (Body Factory, Wanderlust), surf, beach clubs, nonstop social life. A little busy these days.
💸 ~$1,700–2,300/month
4. Medellín, Colombia – Perfect year-round weather, excellent gyms, vibrant nightlife, big nomad community (no beach, but still top tier).
💸 ~$1,200–1,800/month
5. Mexico City, Mexico – One of the best food + nightlife scenes in the world, world-class gyms, surprisingly affordable for a global capital. Have done my longest stay here, using it as home base for about 200 days.
💸 ~$1,500–2,000/month
6. Bangkok, Thailand – GREAT gyms (Muay Thai & fitness), sky bars, 24/7 energy, cheap cost of living. Not on the beach, but 1hr flight to islands
💸 ~$1,200–1,800/month
Part of the beauty of working in this crazy, 24/7 space is that our personal geography… doesn’t really matter. Decentralize yourself from the places you’re used to and experience (and respect) some new cultures all while saving some extra cash without sacrificing your lifestyle wants.
