I enjoyed this discussion a lot. Good job @_DannyKnowles. I have the same questions as @dampedspring about how a company could ever generate cashflows from holding an inert asset, and why we should want companies doing that in lieu of focusing on production of real goods and services that create income and grow the economy. It's like companies holding gold: why? Idle capital is just that. I understand SOME element of wanting to preserve funds but the risk profile of BTC makes it very different from a businesses keeping extra cash in something like a money market. I'd rather most businesses focus on investing in R&D, equipment, and other capex that expands their real productive output, not trying to be one of a hundred Bitcoin proxies in a world that is increasingly able to acquire its own coins.
