Design: Known as the “Isle of Enchantment,” Puerto Rico is represented with symbolic imagery. At the center stands the sentry box of Castillo de San Cristóbal overlooking the Caribbean Sea, accompanied by vibrant hibiscus flowers on the right. The Puerto Rican flag forms the backdrop, emphasizing the pride and culture of the island. At the bottom, the inscription “E Pluribus Unum 2009” reflects Puerto Rico’s historical identity as a U.S. territory. This design reimagines the 25-cent coin motif as an embroidered patch.
