I'm actually pretty surprised at the rarity of Clinton/Obama political prodigy types. In a nation of 340 million, I'd think the skills of "talk good, seem relatable and authentic, know what people care about" would be more common. But no, I think we can all mostly agree that there are no Obamas or Clintons currently in national politics, or maybe 1-2 at most (leftists might say Mamdani, centrists Shapiro, conservatives IDK Vance?) Indicates either strong selective effects that prevent these people going into politics or that the skillset is genuinely vanishingly rare.
