As part of the ongoing *Ugly* project, *Ugly GIFs* emerge from a broader archive of 3D files, setups, and simulations. Typically, Diakur’s artwork takes video form; extended sequences that unfold within the logic of physics-based animation. But these GIFs offer something more immediate. They are framed sketches: short loops pulled from longer processes, fragments that became unexpectedly interesting.
