A lot of dialogue on the stripe/circle L1s and why they're useless. Launching a chain in a year (infra is kinda already here) is going to be similar to launching your own website. You'll get a ton of customization to host whatever you want on your chain depending on your core usecase. Most of them won't be consumer facing - you can just run your own dedicated apps (stables) and still benefit from blockchain tech (instant finality, cheap txns, global 24/7 settlement - see RH and how they use stables already). + with interop and bridging it's pretty easy to onboard bluechip defi apps and anything else you need. This doesn't render general purpose chains useless imo. Chain tech is still an edge and advancing performance by 10-1000x is a worthy feat, but over time it'll be commoditized. What won't be commoditized are the teams behind them + the communities (for now 80% are still just farmers, but the 20% are very valuable). There will be infinite chains (general purpose, appchains, L2s, etc.).
