We’ve in an old black Mercedes drug dealer style sedan trying to go 700m downhill in a Balkan village & the GPS sends the driver down a set of stairs.

We are stuck. But humanity springs into action. Within minutes we have six local “cousins” are trying to bounce this monster into a low rider to get unstuck Doesn’t work

We are now in peak male “helping” in which a variety of young and old men are watching and a couple old village guys have shown up with a truck and we are looking at tow options.

And we’ve been hooked up to the truck as a counter weight with a cope and a block. We have at least 10 dudes helping, tourists watching & the women are clapping.

Young and old, local and tourist come together to participate in the age old rituals #DudesRock and towed the beautiful old Mercedes safely out

Literally a woman who owned a restaurant in the village sent for some friends (she couldn’t stay as she was opening but said don’t worry she will send help). And she did! They came ready with a block, a rope, a truck to tow. Naturally @alexlmiller in the fray as a #ManofAction

@alexlmiller It was like being in an episode of top gear where a monster old gangster car is stuck in an old village & the wise elders descend with a few able bodies to save Jeremy Clarkson. Some just watch & comment. The car is miraculously running even better at the end. Alex is dirty
