I’ve seen a lot of posts about how “as you get more successful, you outgrow your friends.” Honestly, that’s always been strange to me. Unless your friends are actively holding you back, why would their career or bank account matter? Most of my closest friends, I couldn’t even tell you exactly what they do for work. Maybe a vague idea of the industry. The bond isn’t built on resumes or income brackets. Sure, friendships can drift when schedules, lifestyles, or locations change. That’s real. But if the main reason is that your financial status changed, that says more about you than the friends you’re leaving behind.
