The way the guy who inspired this character dies pretty much justifies the views of the cartoon villain. He was tricked into an ambush with the promise of corn by the Powhatan Indians. They flayed him alive with muscle shells throwing his flesh into the fire. Saved his face for last so he was awake the entire time.
