an interesting thing about a no screens kid is that he's not been indoctrinated to anything he literally has never seen a movie or tv episode until this one he just has an innate interest in the competitive

the sequence is rather girl-coded our kid is a boy, and he only wants to watch the competitive third act
and we oblige things we watch with him: –– climbing competitions –– recordings of old basketball games
and of course, trains

my intention was to find a way to condition him that nothing on screens is particularly interesting or engaging i spent time thinking how to do this and remembered reading about public access channels in norway i decided to run an experiment with slow tv
no screens kid is bit of a misnomer

whenever lofi girl protocol goes viral, people assume i'm anti screens –– it's really quite the opposite i decided to run a new experiment: i gave the now 4 year old an ipad, exclusively for texting a bold move, given one notable constraint he can't read
@drewlustro i think so

it didn't occur to me when i posted the protocol, but i think this could actually also work as a way to wean off of screens is anyone interested in trying to apply it in reverse?
