After 4.7 years as a security focused smart contract engineer, tomorrow will be my last day at Origin Protocol.
7 products spread out on 5 chains, mid 9-figure TVL, 540+ deploys and upgrades, with 0 user funds lost since I started that role. 1/8

Origin has been a wonderful place to work, full of fantastic, extra competent people. I wrote my first DAPP code at the end 2017 in Origin’s GitHub repo, and started working with team at the start of 2018. So almost 8 years with the team. 2/8
I’d like to thank Origin co-founder Josh Fraser for inviting me to work here.
His personal values of honesty, working in public, competence, clear thinking, and freedom!, set the initial and ongoing culture of Origin. He also encouraged me to tweet and work in the open. 3/8
No code I’ve marked with a green checkmark in internal review has yet had a loss of user funds bug found in it by auditors, fuzzing, formal verification, bounty hunters, hackers, or anyone outside. 2/8
There’s still a million dollar unclaimed crit vulnerability.
(Pls submit, get paid, if you find one) 3/8
I’m proud of relentlessly keeping the code simple and architected for safety. We’ve continuously increased the speed of new code, even while building on top of years of past code and keeping backwards compatibility. That’s not something that happens in most codebases. 4/8

A hidden hero is an early engineer at Origin, Tom Linton (@tmlntn ), who taught me the value of good engineering around code.
He made every PR to be linted, prettied, tested, slithered, fork deployed/upgraded off real deploy scripts, and fork tested. Velocity and Safety. 7/8
@tmlntn It continues to be an honor to work with the blockchain security community. It's a rare a place where high skill and deep personal character are clearly shown.
I get to hang around people who have turned down taking tens and hundreds of millions when they had the chance. 8/9
@tmlntn What’s next from here? I’m going to take a month off to blink in the sun, sleep a lot, and see if I can push my number one blockchain ecosystem security concern to a better place. After that who knows. 9/9
