MAHA reflects a real frustration of people on the nutrition-related chronic disease failings of America. But it couldn't be more crystal clear that the administration sees MAHA as a tool to distract and score political points without actually making progress. Asking candy and ice cream makers to take out artificial colors and sugar-sweetened beverage producers to change the types of sugars is about as public health theatre as it gets.
