Last November we announced the sale of @smlxldotio to @Dune; last month I left and joined @Coinbase. Since the acquisition, my DMs play the same track: “wen back?” “Why isn’t improving?” “When will ship something new?” —as if I still have an undo button. Those projects now ride in capable hands I no longer steer. I miss the @smlxldotio crew and respect @Dune, but my compass pointed elsewhere on culture, product, and strategy, so we shook hands and moved on. I’m rooting for them—but I reserve the right to wince when something we sweated over disappears, or re-emerges in rougher form. Founders earn that privilege.
